This website has been created and developed by the Brighton & Hove Partnership Community Safety Team, Brighton & Hove City Council and Brighton & Hove Children & Young People's Trust (see 'Links' page for more information)

Whilst most young people lead safe and secure lives, a large number of young people in the city are the victims of crime, have experienced bullying or harassment; or have been involved with an accident or injury in the home, on the roads or in a public places.

To try and address this, in 2003 Brighton & Hove City Council and the Partnership Community Safety Team put a Children and Young People's Safety Officer in post to begin to look at the various safety and crime issues which effect the lives of under 18 year olds in the city. As part of the response to this, this website has been developed to provide information and advice about crime and safety to young people, parents/carers and professionals.

A big thanks to the Government of the South East who gave the Partnership Community Safety Team funding to develop this website. The website was created and developed by the Children & Young People's Safety Officer and Diatribe Design, but thanks also goes to many other professionals and young people who helped out along the way. In particular thanks to the young people at Woodingdean Youth Club and the young people at Hove YMCA Youth Club who proof read the text and made helpful suggestions on its design.
